Installation Instructions
 

Installing the electromagnetic flowmeter requires careful consideration of the site pipeline conditions. For pipelines without a ball valve, the installation should be on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening to ensure a secure fit.
In scenarios requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow must be prevented, incorporating a ball valve is essential. This requires selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening for a reliable connection.

The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle is independent of the flow characteristics, guaranteeing consistent readings.
Even if turbulence and vortices are generated outside the measurement area (such as near elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), they will not affect the measurement accuracy.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can impact stability and accuracy.
To enhance measurement stability and accuracy, consider taking the following measures:

  1. Increase the length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer to manage flow consistency.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point to stabilize flow.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation from equipment. If necessary, ensure proper insulation and ventilation.
    2. Ideally, install the flowmeter indoors. If outdoor installation is unavoidable, protect it from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid environments with corrosive gases. If unavoidable, implement adequate ventilation measures.
    4. Ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid installing the flowmeter near magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If significant pipeline vibration is present, provide supports on both sides to stabilize the pipeline.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To reduce vortex effects and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections are required; otherwise, measurement accuracy will suffer. Installing a flow straightener and avoiding proximity to control valves and partially open valves is advisable.

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter demands specific conditions for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to maintain measurement accuracy: a. The inner diameter of these process pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter, adhering to 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (DN being the sensor's inner diameter and D the process pipe's inner diameter). b. Ensure the process pipe and sensor are concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure the seamless maintenance and optimal performance of our Explosion Proof Flowmeter with 100ms Response Time and High Reliability, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is particularly crucial for heavily contaminated fluids and scenarios where cleaning the flowmeter without halting fluid flow is necessary. a. Facilitates the maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows the flowmeter to be cleaned without stopping the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections For optimal measurement accuracy with our advanced flowmeters, ensure proper straight pipe sections: Inlet should be ≥ 10×DN; Outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee the reliable operation and precise measurements of the instrument, external parasitic potentials must be minimized. The sensor requires excellent grounding, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is already well grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Please refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning to ensure optimal performance.
