For pipelines without a ball valve, installation should occur in a non-pressurized environment, allowing for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
A 50mm diameter hole should be drilled into the pipeline, followed by welding a connecting pipe to the opening to ensure secure installation.
When continuous flow is required during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is prohibited, a ball valve must be incorporated. This necessitates the use of an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure.
Similarly, a 50mm diameter hole must be drilled into the pipeline, with preparations made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening.

Ensure the accuracy and optimal performance of the electromagnetic flowmeter by adhering to the requirement for straight pipe sections: 5D upstream and 3D downstream.
The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter remains unaffected by the flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices are generated in the non-measurement areas of the pipeline (e.g., elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), it will not impact the measurement.
However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area can compromise the stability and accuracy of the readings.
In such cases, measures should be taken to stabilize the flow distribution:
1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter
2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate vortices and flow field distortion, ensure the required lengths for upstream and downstream straight pipe sections. Failure to meet these requirements can affect measurement accuracy (a straightener may be installed, and installation near control valves and partially open valves should be avoided).
2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specifications for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to maintain measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor and adhere to the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.
2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance and optimal performance of the flowmeter, installing a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This is particularly crucial for handling heavily contaminated fluids and during scenarios where the flowmeter requires cleaning without halting the fluid flow. a. Essential for effortless maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Mandatory for fluids with heavy contamination. c. Enables cleaning of the flowmeter without stopping the fluid flow.
3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters
3.1. Straight Pipe Section Requirements To ensure accurate measurements, the flowmeter must be installed with adequate straight pipe sections. For the inlet, a straight pipe section should be no less than 10×DN, while the outlet requires a straight pipe section of at least 5×DN.
3.2. Grounding Point Requirements To guarantee the reliable operation of the flowmeter and enhance measurement precision, it is imperative to minimize the influence of external parasitic potentials. The sensor must be properly grounded, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, additional grounding devices are unnecessary.
3.3. Installation Position Requirements Refer to the diagram for correct installation positioning.
